Quotes

  • Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”

  • “A friend is someone who, upon seeing another friend in immense pain, would rather be the one experiencing the paint han to have to watch their friend suffer”

  • “The sound of a kiss is not so loud as that of a cannon, but its echo lasts a great deal longer”.

El so d’un petó es tan fort com el so d’un canyó, pero l’eco dura molt més temps.

  • “Inside the heart of each and every one of us there is a longing to be understood by someone who really cares. When a person is understood, he or she can put up with almost anything in the world.

  • “Two souls with but a single thought, Two hearts that beat as one”.

  • “You don't love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her”

Conclucion

I think I could improve conjugating verbs and my pronunciation when have done speaking English, because I could do it even better. The best I have done this year is the story of my life and the funny story. I think the worst I have done is to invent the funny story, because it was very difficult for me to invent a story, at though in the video the photos were very beautiful, we had at lot of problems with the voice of the video and also puting in the blog.

I could improve my pronunciation in English. I could spend more time studying verbs, because I always forget the meaning of the verbs.

Caminar resulta demasiado aburrido

¿Vienes conmigo?
Podría robar tu ropa y usarla si me queda
Y no lloraré, soy demasiado joven
para morir si vas a abandonarme
Porque soy una gitana
No puedo esconder lo que he hecho
Las cicatrices sólo me recuerdan de cuan lejos he venido
Para a quien eso le pueda preocupar
Solamente corre con tijeras cuando quieras herirte

[Estribillo]
Y yo digo

¿Vienes conmigo?
Podría robar tu ropa y usarla si me queda
Y no lloraré, soy demasiado joven

Tinc poster, fotos, resvistes i CD. Lived in so much dark thought you'd never see the light again
Have you ever yearned from deep within when you see others laughin

Three complete epic tuk-tuk trip for charity

Three emn and their trusty tuk-tuk have conquered a charity challenge travelling thousands of miles through India.

The father-and-sons trio completed The Rickshaw Run, driving the length of the country, across inhospitable terrain, with only a 150cc engine to power them.

They survived a dramatic bedroom fire on their first night, pushed their tuk-tuk “Bessie” up hills and took their place in the Indian roads hierarchy behind almost everything, including cattle.

Covering 3,150km in eight days, the Ipswich team, Dark side of the Naan, came second in the race from the Keralan town of Cochin in the south, to deep in the Himalayan hills and the town of Gantok, Sikkim, just four hours behind the winners and four days ahead of third place.

Competing against 71 other teams, Tony Welton, 52 and his two sons, Ollie Welton, 22 and 27-year-old Matt Green crossed the line, 11 places ahead of a Norwich team, raising £1,000 for the designated Indian charities, Frank Water Projects (which funds clean water projects in developing countries) and Mercy Corps (which help countries in the aftermath of disasters).

The trio also raised around £1,200 for Coping with Breast Cancer. Ollie, who works in IT for the BBC, said the experience was “absolutely amazing,” with the scenery changing every few miles. Battling through temperatures reaching 40C with a top speed of 55 mph, the trio were up at the crack of dawn driving until nightfall.

He said: “Night time driving was fun, surrounded by lorries on a highway with little more than two candles strapped to the front for lights and the two passengers hanging out the sides with wind up torches.“The bigger you were the more rights you had. I think we were pretty much below everything else on the road, including cattle, and we would have several near misses every day as vehicles overtook in both directions.

China produce cubic watermelons, the more nutritious

A Chinese biotechnology institute has managed to cultivate a cube-shaped watermelons, more nutritious and easier to store than traditional spherical, according to the state agency Xinuha. Quadrature technique combines the application of advanced biotechnology with the use of simple cubic molds. They have the same quality as the traditional skin with a "hard and elastic, although they are more nutritious, because the process compresses the fruit and thus its nutrients. Health Care Law Includes Menu Reform

Tamaño de fuente

The health care reform legislation that President Obama signed into law today also includes a new requirement for the country's restaurant chains.
Restaurants chains with 20 or more locations will be required to post nutritional data for their menu items. The requirement is modeled on similar regulations already in place in New York City and California.

The NRA (National Restaurant Association) is
praising the requirements:

“The passage of this provision is a win for consumers and restaurateurs,” said Dawn Sweeney, National Restaurant Association President and CEO. “We know the importance of providing consumers with the information they want and need, no matter in which part of the country they are dining. This legislation will replace a growing patchwork of varying state and local regulations with one consistent national standard that helps consumers make choices that are best for themselves and their families.”

The regulation will also apply to posting nutritional information on the outside of vending machines. The American Beverage Association has announced that their members were going to start doing this anyway.

PERFECT PEOPLE (TRADUCTION)

Tsunami: Making waves

On most days, Devils Hole looks like a glassy surface of crystal-clear water, shimmering with an unearthly, iridescent turquoise hue at the bottom of a crack in the rocks 50 feet below ground level.

But on April 4, 16 minutes after the shockwaves arrived in the Mojave Desert 300 miles north of the epicenter near Mexicali in Baja California, serenity gave way to turmoil in the small world of the Devils Hole pupfish.

"The water was sloshing back and forth so hard it splashed against our cameras four feet above the

waterline," said Ambre Chaudoin, a graduate student in fisheries conservation and management with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Arizona Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit at the UA.

"The quake swept the shelf clean from algae, shuffling the silt and cobble around. Such disturbance can be important because the spawning shelf is less than 13 feet long and 7 feet wide, smaller than many walk-in closets. "

Chaudoin and fellow USGS researcher Olin Feuerbacher, a senior research specialist for the Cooperative, conduct the pupfish monitoring study as part of a joint effort to protect the Devils Hole pupfish population. Under its land grant mission, the UA is tasked with research aimed to learn how the fish might be propagated in captivity and what factors may threaten their survival as a species.

The study is being conducted by the USGS Arizona Fish and Wildlife Cooperative Research Unit and is funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in partnership with the National Park Service and the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

Myrna's Postcard

Hi Lourdes!!

I'm writing this email from Italy. In the south the weather is very hot and
sunny. The young people are polite and the old people are
very friendly. I'm walking around the city to visit all monuments, and also
meet people.

I've just arrived here in Rome.In the last days I've visited the Trevi
fountain, Roman Coliseum and I've also visited the Vatican. In Italy they sell
many kinds of cappuccino, and these days I've tasted a lot. Speaking of
food, it isn't very different from Spain so I haven't any problems.

Tomorrow I'll go walking to train station, and I'll go to Vienna. In Vienna,
I'll take a gondola through the canals. It's a dream I've always wanted to do.

I shall go on writing more postcards.

Myrna
